As a colleague of Braxton Mitchell, I know you have to build relationships in your community to get elected. When you arrive at Helena, you need to build new relationships with your colleagues to get things done.
As a former House Majority Leader, I not only built my own relationships, but I also had the pleasure of helping new lawmakers build them as well. As an outsider to Helena, Rep. Mitchell has proven himself capable of being an effective legislator and someone who can think for himself. He had prepared himself by building relationships with his future colleagues even before being sworn in. I saw that the relationships he made were with those who shared his conservative values, focused on their neighborhoods, and weren’t influenced by wine and dinner. “good people” who often try to bring new representatives into the establishment. Because he never compromised his principles or his district, it was never a question of how he would vote. Unfortunately, this cannot be said for all of our colleagues.
Consistency and integrity have earned him the endorsement of groups like Montanans for Limited Government, The Montana Family Foundation, CPAC, the NRA and others. As House Majority Leader and a senior member of the Legislature, I have seen lawmakers lose their primaries. It’s almost always because they’re out of step with the values of their constituents. Braxton Mitchell earned an “A” grade from the NRA, unlike his opponent who received a “D” grade, he received a 100% grade from the Montana Family Foundation, and he received the 2021 Business Champion Award from the Montana Chamber of Commerce. , these are just a few of the many issues that demonstrate that he is aligned with your values. Based on his record and the leadership I have seen him show, I offer my full support for his re-election and ask you to support him as well.
